This is a newly renovated 1796 brownstone in the historic Old City part of Philadelphia.  We kept the renovations clean and simple along with the new furniture plan.  This small space is open and inviting.

This traditional family room is on trend with the pops of green. We used the clients existing rug and an inspiration photo to inspire this design.  In addition we added drapery to the kitchen, dining room. 

The formal living room features Stickley upholstery and a handmade secretary that was made by the clients father.  The window were a challenge due to the different styles and heights. We added a valance over panels and a tassel  trim detail to balance the panels on the large window.  The client was very please with the outcome.

This client moved to this beautiful home from out of state. We used many of their existing pieces as well as added new pieces, accessories, paint and window treatments to complete this look.  Each room has its own identity while creating a strong continuity as you walk throughout the home  

Malvern-Rustic Transitional

This client wanted to update this small family room after remodeling their kitchen.  They wanted a warm "adult" space that they could entertain in as well as relax and watch TV.  We chose to use traditional pieces along with modern fabrics and case goods to create this eclectic and cozy room.

Malvern Master Bedroom & Sitting Area

This room features a traditional poster bed with custom bedding and window treatments. Off of the master is a cozy sofa and ottoman to complete the sitting area.  

Malvern Living Room

This step down living room is fun and colorful.  We chose traditional pieces to complement an existing rug.  Pops of fuchsia and green tie in the floral window treatments and complete this timeless look.

Modern Ecletic Barto, PA

Traditional meets modern in this eclectic living room. The gray upholstery is right on trend with pops of teal and green to complete this look.

Villanova-Casual Elegance Living Room

Modern yet classic design is what my client requested for this room.  They wanted a space that their children could enjoy but also a retreat for the adults.  We selected tone on tone textures of oatmeal fabrics.  The unlined linen drapery give this room a bright beachy feel agains the spa blue walls.  We kept the accents very soft with touches of light spa blue and a splash of pink with the floral center piece.

Library

This was a  dated formal living room rarely used that we converted into a stylish and versatile  library and music room.  We used the existing rug to inspire the wall color and upholstery for this look. This is now a place that the client uses every day but still is a show stopper when you enter the home.

This formal living room is both elegant and functional.  Oversized tufted sofas and modern wing chairs create a intimate seating area.  The traditional wood pieces along with the piano help to balance the modern elements with the traditional.

This client wanted an updated tone on tone classic look with no color. To create contrast we added darker pillows and drapery to break up the cream color. We added traditional elements like the double chandeliers for some drama and sparkel.  Touches of black both in the fabrics and  wood pieces help to create depth in this classic yet modern look.

I was so happy that this client didn't shy away from color!  The rug set the color story for this family room and eat in kitchen.  Red upholstery with blue accents coordinate with the deep blue wall color.  This room is family friendly with a casual elegance.

Rustic Eat-in Kitchen Nook

This client moved from Colorado to this Arts and Crafts style home.  They wanted a relaxed and warm space.  We selected black and tan which is carried throughout the first floor of this home.  Strong textures were used on the flooring, upholstery and window treatments.  Pillows of varies sizes and colors bring in some pattern and contrast to complete the look.

Custom Built Home-Multiple Spaces.  This home had so many wonderful architectual elements to work with.  The clients wanted a warm and traditional home they could raise their family in as well as entertain.  All of the upholstery, window treatments and wood pieces were custom made to furnish this home.

First home

I first designed this home for a client in Bryn Mawr.  About one year later they surprised me when they sold there home and relocated to Gladwyn.  I was up for the challenge. We were able to arrange the furniture in a new way, re-accessorize and added new custom window coverings.

"From one house to Another"

Sunroom

This client wanted a cozy room they could sit in and see their children in the back yard. They disliked the tile flooring but didn't have it n the budget to change. Our solution was to make a custom size rug to minimize it. Sunbrella fabrics were used on all of the upholstery to protect from the sun coming in the wall of windows.  Pops of green off the light gray create a bright and cheery look they can enjoy in all seasons.

Master Bedroom

This French country inspired bedroom was the last and final room to be decorated in this home. We used both painted and wood stained pieces to create and eclectic look.  The bedding and window treatments were all custom designed for this room.  A rug was added at a later date to anchor the furniture and complete the space.

This client requested a minimal modern industrial look.  We used a mixture of reclaimed wood and metal along with modern textiles and frames to complete the look.

Modern Living-Wynnewood, PA

This client has a big family and needed lots of seating for a moderate size room.  We maximized the seating by including extra ottomans and chairs flanking the fireplace giving us seating for 10! 

Warm Family Room-Wayne, PA

Kitchen

This home had a great room that could be seen from the kitchen and home office. We created a cohesion by using accents in white painted wood pieces and red accents in the fabrics. The great room had multiple seating areas where the client could relax and read or watch TV.

Large Family Room

We created a cottage feel with these traditional colors of gold, red and blue.  The room features two seating areas as well as a work/game area.  A mixtures of reclaimed wood and metal had an updated look against the traditional sofa table and game table.

Elegant Dining Room

This formal dining room features a beautiful hand knotted rug and silk duppioni drapery with tassel trim elegantly puddling on the floor.  Coordinating fabrics on the host and side chairs create and cohesive but eclectic look.

Sitting Area

This beautiful country side home has amazing views.  We dressed the windows in linen textures and prints for a natural look.  The rooms are tone on tone with a soft color on the walls to let nature be the focal point of these spaces.

This traditional home has classic colors and styles and was designed for formal entertaining.

Lower Gynedd Formal Living and Dinning Room

This living room and dining room feature custom seating and window treatments.  The windows are layered with Hunter Douglas Silhouettes, drapery panels and custom cornice boards.  We selected tone on tone neutral fabrics in many different textures to give the room interest.

This traditional country style house features warm wood tones and classic color combinations to create warm and inviting spaces.

Traditional Living Room-North Wales, PA

The dark navy walls in this living room are a great back drop for the classic traditional furniture and drapery. I tried to create a causal elegance in the space allowing the client to relax and entertain without the feeling overly formal.

This client came to me with existing drapery that had been custom made by another designer to go with existing furniture however, the fabrics clashed horribly and the room was not balanced.  The drapery fabric became yellow when the sun was shining and upholstery was more of a taupe.  We added a larger rug, introduced a completely new floor plan and added warm colors to balance the yellow cast the drapery gave off.  The clients were thrilled with the transformation and the way we addressed the challenge. Now the room is a warm and inviting place they can enjoy and show off for many years.
